The rock mechanics laboratory with an infrastructure of about 400 square meters is located on the ground floor of the west edge of the Faculty of Mining Engineering. All devices of this laboratory are made by ELE company in England, which was purchased in 1992 and has been developed during the time. It is currently one of the most comprehensive rock mechanics laboratories in Iran.
In this laboratory, the following tests are performed according to the ISRM standard:
• Determining the physical properties of rocks
• Uniaxial and triple axial compressive strength in dry and saturated state
• Indirect traction
• Point load index
•Direct cut
• Laboratory permeability
Research activities :
This laboratory has the ability to cooperate directly and indirectly in all projects related to rock mechanics, including the following:
